How to Make Gel Candles?

• Fill a container with water and heat it on the stove to melt the solid gel wax using a double boiler method.
• Regularly stir the gel wax as it starts to melt using the double boiler method.
• Once the gel is melted, add the wick, wick holder, optional color, and fragrance into the selected container.
• Since gel is oil-based, it is recommended not to use water-based colors. Those who want to color the gel can use a small amount of pigment dye with the tip of a skewer.
• Place the wicks in the containers. Wicks holders ensure that the wicks remain fixed in the center. If there are no adhesive wick holders, drip some melted wax at the bottom of the container to secure the wick holder in the center.
• You can pour the gel wax into glass containers while still hot, and into mica boxes when it cools down.
• Fill the container halfway with the melted gel and wait for the gel to solidify for a while. This will happen at 32 degrees Celsius. If you fill it all at once, bubbles may form due to slight reactions with the materials on the surface, causing your candle to have bubbles.
• Wait for about 5-10 minutes for these bubbles to disappear. Then fill the remaining part of the container and let it solidify.
• Things to pay attention to;
• There should never be any water or anything else in the container you will melt the gel in, even a drop of water will cloud the gel wax.
• Pour the liquid gel wax that you have melted from the stove slowly and from a low height, otherwise bubbles will form.
• Do not move the container with the poured gel wax until it is completely solidified.
